This is not a public forum. This rule applies to Private Messaging as well.
This forum is run by the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation for purpose of discussion of evidence-based medicine, medical problems and personal problems revolving around the issue of Morgellons disease.
We are limiting treatment discussions to evidence-based medicine that can include allopathy, homeopathy, vitamins etc..
We will not permit therapies that are not evidence-based and have no solid evidence measuring risk. There has to be evidence-based studies of risk done for that specific therapy or modality...that is important.
Many topics are deemed inappropriate for this site including sex spam, viagra sales etc.. There will always be a form of censorship to some degree.
We have had many questions and complaints about some protocols touted as treatment, and we cannot satisfactorily answer as to the safety aspects nor redirect them to evidence-based studies about risk. We do not have the resources to research protocols.
There is a difference between someone who is sick but competent intentionally exploring non-evidence based and non-peer reviewed protocols and someone who is sick looking for answers and being given theoretical non-proven advice from a site they presume is evidence based.
Not everyone that reads here is an adult. Not everyone that reads here is mentally competent. We must be careful and ethical.
That is the situation we find ourselves in and have chosen a route of caution for the sake of all who visit our site.
We will be quite liberal with topics but if the therapy or modality has the potential of harm and is without proper evidence-based research to measure the risk, or if it has been shown over the many years of treatments to relieve people of money but not symptoms or disease we will restrict its discussion on this forum. Of course if it has nothing to do with Morgellons disease it will be banned.
Offenders will be given one warning before being banned but the offending posts will be deleted.
Regards
Jim Wilson
